LA's Natural histroy museum

About a month ago we had a rare free Saturday so we headed out to the big city to have some fun. If you live anywhere near LA and have little kids I HIGHLY recommend going to the natural history museum. They really do a great job of getting little ones involved. I have been to some pretty awesome museums like the Getty and the natural history museum in Chicago. They were all really big and impressive but this small little museum in LA was the BEST for kids.

When we got there we were told to go to the puppet show. Both Paul and I thought whoopee how lame was this going to be. We were definitely surprise when a life size baby triceratops came charging into the room. This thing was so real looking! Adam thought for sure it was real and quickly scooted into my lap.

After the puppet show the kids got to dig for fossils and visit their bug zoo. The worker there was kind enough to let my kids hold giant cockroaches. I'm glad I carry hand sanitizer.

Cavities

I am married to a dentist, so you would think we would all have perfect teeth, never eat candy, and be Paul's best patients. umm WRONG.
Here is poor little Adams recent trip. He had 2 cavities that were pretty big. I being the wise mother that I am suggested that maybe it would be a good idea to give him a little sleepy gas before Paul started. Paul didn't like that idea and proceeded to tell me that he was the dentist and knew what he was doing. I'll let you be the judge of that after you see these pictures.

Poor little guy i had to hold down his legs While Paul's assistant held his arms! You can see how sweaty he got from screaming so hard! He definitely deserved his licorice!!

I know its March but....

Ok I know its March but I have SERIOUSLY neglected this blog so ....MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

This year we decided to start a new tradition for Christmas eve and have a "night in Bethlehem". It was great! I think it really helped the kids understand why we celebrate Christmas and helped them realise that Jesus was a real person. We ate pita bread and lamb chops and olives and I even got my kids to try dates and figs. We will definitely be doing this again next year.

Here are just some cute pics of the kids with their "big" toy from Santa. (Jackson is so small so Santa decided he really didn't need to have the elves spend any money on him this year. A stuffed animal was all he needed)

Adam's new pet Spike the Dinosaur. We have learned that we can't refer to him as merely Spike. He is Spike the Dinosaur

This is Smores. She was really hard for Santa to justify all the money it took to make her, but this was the only thing Whitney asked for. What can I say Santa is a sucker.

Sad

Today is a very sad day for my family. Our good friends the Sampsons are moving away to bigger and better things and our hearts just ache with the loss of you.
Natalie you have not only been a true friend to me but you love my kids and I can't thank you enough for that. I know that you will love being back near family and old friends, and they will be blessed to have you in their lives just as we were. Please keep in touch!!!

Top reasons why we will miss the Sampson's
. sacrament will be alot quieter
.No going to "Miss Natalie's" after school
. No more Cafe Rio night
.Paul will have to find someone else to help lift heavy objects
. No one to suggest "special fridays"
.I'll actually have to start talking to other moms outside kindergarten
We love you guys!!!!
